~ A few days in KC for Sadie after Caffeine Crawl Houston meant lots of LAB team drinks in the (frosty) city of fountains. ~ Frigid temps and reunions with friends were warmed by the ever friendly and delicious KC Coffee Scene. Work sessions with Jason at Second Best Coffee and Kaldi's meant roasted-in-house Rwandan pour overs, tasty side cars and plans for Caffeine Crawl KC Spring. Several stops at Quay for lattes to-go charged my busy schedule and offered high-fives and hugs from former coworkers and friends. Sitting out a surprise snowstorm over Buffalo Trace whiskey ciders with the sister at Thou Mayest started a cozy afternoon, finished by a great chat over Chicago coffee culture with the roaster himself, Chris. I boarded my plane back to Colorado with a bag full of KC roasted coffee and plenty of caffeinated vibes. - Sadie Made the most out of a snowy Saturday night with Michael and our wives. We shared a bottle of Valpolicella Classico Superiore Rafaèl 2012 at Bella Napoli. A perfect mix of cozy Italian food, complementing spice in the wine, great company and snowflakes as the backdrop. In typical Burton and Levine fashion we had to hit at least one more spot. Had to see our bartender friend, Kenny Cohrs, at Jax Restaurant. We shifted to a selection of cocktails from the menu - Affirmed (cherry infused bourbon base), Bourbon Punch (Old Forrester Bourbon base), Wandering Soul (Bulliet Bourbon base) and a High Plains Negroni (Greyling Gin) - with a tray of oysters. KC friends, we highly recommend a visit. - Jason ~ Join the Conversation ~
