~ The biggest event of our 2 weekend, 4 city Colorado Caffeine Crawl lineup, Denver brought the buzz with 6 routes and 17 local shops. ~ Caffeine Crawl Colorado weekend #2 started on a high note with a packed cafe (and patio) at Huckleberry Roasters’ kickoff party and latte art throw down. After a fantastic inaugural Caffeine Crawl Colorado Springs, we hit the streets by bike and car for a day of mile high caffeination. Routes kicking off at Pigtrain Coffee sipped Conscious Coffee cold brew on tap and soaked up the charm of Denver Union Station while chatting with Anders and team about the cafe. Huckleberry Roasters welcomed Crawlers with ready-to-go cupping and answers for questions. Copper Door Coffee served a cold brew flight to compare origin flavors, and collaborated with Backyard Soda Co (on hand with soda samples) to create a 7-spice root beer coffee mocktail. Amethyst Coffee served sparkling water as a palate cleanser before serving Chemex brews of a blend and a single origin. Commonwealth Coffee prepped a Costa Rican pourover and pulled the same coffee as espreso shots, and Black Black Coffee served aeropress and Chemex brews from Middlestate Coffee Roasters. The Menendez family joined us again at Corvus, and Fluid Coffee compared chilled hot brew to cold brew as they prepped for their 10th anniversary celebration that evening. Boxcar Coffee at The Source sampled their unique cold brew method using an Ethiopian Coffee, and we sipped 3 chilled tea lattes from The Sophisticate’s Tea mobile truck as Jeremiah shared their story. Drip Denver sampled a creamy Sumatran cold brew (with Bailey’s added on request) & Metropolis offered a house made blackberry iced tea in addition to cold brew. Purple Door Coffee shared their mission for employing homeless youths and young adults while maintaining a high standard for great coffee, and made good on their word with a stunning cherry coffee soda. Thump Coffee served a reserve microlot Kenya via iced Chemex brew, and Novo took ‘cold brew coffee cocktail’ to a new level with ‘The Nautilus’ - Fort Collins Dancing Pines Gin & Brulee liqueur, orange zest, cold brew and lightly whipped heavy cream. Sweet Bloom hosted a full Kenya cupping, a first time experience for many Crawlers! Denver’s cafe scene has grown so much since our first Colorado Caffeine Crawl in 2011, and we love being along for the ride. Till next year, Denver! ~ Join the Conversation ~
