Two dreamy bevs combined? 2015 had some great ones. Our 2015 Caffeine Crawl awards reminded us of all the stellar coffee cocktails / mocktails we drank this year, so we thought we'd recap a few highlights. One of our top favorites, pictured above, included ‘The Nautilus’ at Novo Coffee in Denver - Fort Collins Dancing Pines Gin & Brulee liqueur, orange zest, cold brew and lightly whipped heavy cream. Two cafes won our 2015 Best Coffee Cocktail/Mocktail award, including The Mud House in St. Louis - they blew us away in April with curbside service and Coffee Tonics - Kyoto Cold Brew, Fever Tree tonic and a orange peel on ice. We cooled down in Fort Collins this August with "The Gucci" at winner #2, The Bean Cycle - Kyoto Cold Brew combined with fresh pressed apple, lemon and ginger juice and a hint of agave nectar for a sweet-tart take on a coffee Arnold Palmer. Cafe Evoke in Edmond, OK whipped up a concoction of Ritual espresso, Ritual dark chocolate (not the same company), a housemade vanilla syrup, Q Tonic Kola and maraschino cherries. In Norman, OK, Mariposa Coffee Roastery created a drink using cold brew, Champagne, jalapeno and celery - unique and awesome! Either/Or Cafe in Portland served Crawlers a citrusy, frothy coffee mocktail, and Big Shoulders Coffee Roasters in Chicago offered a Cafe Bombon - espresso poured over ice and a layer of sweetened condensed milk, as well as a housemade ginger-lemonade mixed with cold brew and served with a mint - another take on the coffee Arnold Palmer.
All in all, it was a great year for caffeinated coffee creations - we can't wait to see what Caffeine Crawl cocktails await in 2016! Cheers! ~ Sadie
