~ Lots of coffee around KC & FoCo, plus good beer at favorite spaces & cocktails at new institutions. ~ 1. If I could go to Bier Station weekly to work and have a few tastings I would. Love the 4oz pour option. Last week had a 2nd Shift Art of Neurosis and Ommegang Rare Vos. - Jason 2. Coffee was the case that they gave me this week! Stops at Parisi Cafe (A latte in Leawood); PT's in the Crossroads (A Costa Rican pour over) and Crows in Brookside (V60 using Messenger) were my highlights! Looking forward to sampling some of their warmer weather options soon ... It's almost Cold Brew time in #KCMO and I for one cannot wait! - Michael 3. Making my own mulled wine was a enjoyable precedent to a cozy evening spent on the couch watching Netflix and basking in the natural potpourri that is mulling. Check out the full write up here and make your own as a savory farewell to winter. - Sadie 4. Probably my favorite part of cocktails is making a punch for a group of people. I juiced 3 grapefruits and 10 lemons to go with a bottle of Rose, North Shore Distillery Gin, club soda and brown sugar for a tangy drink drink for friends on Saturday night. - Jason 5. Making my way through my stash of home brew beans was highlighted by this Nicaraguan coffee from Augie's Coffee Roasters in San Diego - hazelnut and raspberry tones brought back sunny SoCal vibes. - Sadie 6. So many good options at Julep in KC, and great people watching spot. Had 3 delicious whiskeys including the blend they did with Angel's Envy. See yesterday's #BeverageLife for more details. - Jason 7. Late night study group at Everyday Joe's is becoming a happy (and productive) routine for me, and this week tossed in some KCMO love with coffee (and the mug!) from Oddly Correct. Burning the midnight oil never tasted so good. - Sadie 8. New tavern in town with some cocktail greats behind the bar? Why Not! Stopped in to the new Blvd Tavern (the old Nica's 320) for some pre-The Book of Mormon cocktails and eats! Not knowing what to expect we were very pleasantly surprised! Excellent, well-balanced drinks using many locally-sourced ingredients and products combined with really good food made our trip a success (and a sure bet for a repeat performance soon). I had the Sporting Sour (in honor of the season opener of MLS's Sporting KC) which featured Dark Horse Rye and a Boulevard 80 Acre reduction (plus lemon and bitters). Damn fine drink! - Michael 9. A late lunch at Choice City Butcher and Deli was accompanied by O'Dell's Brazzle Sour Golden Raspberry - tart and fizzy with a bittersweet, fruity kick. - Sadie 10. I made rounds getting coffee and tea drinks from a variety of shops on the April Caffeine Crawl Kansas City - Mud Pie, The Roasterie, Crows,Parisi, Shang Tea and Blip Roasters. One of the highlights was seeing the new space and build out Blip Roasters has plan. - Jason Jason's in Chicago! Caffeine Crawl prep for June in collaboration with Coffee Fest Chicago is in the works, and you can follow along on twitter & instagram for live updates.
