~ Drinks around town with wine and whiskey in the spotlight ~ I wasn’t as good last week making local coffee shop rounds, but had great meetings and talks at PT’s Coffee, Thou Mayest, and Oddly Correct, with a doughnut, of course. Also, there was a surprise stop at a place that was training on an Alpha Dominche. Can’t mention that yet. - Jason Had to open a bottle of Riverbench, the 2012 Pommard Pinot Noir to be exact. I had just saw a picture of our friend Laura at Riverbench with Giada De Laurentiis, and that was reason enough to toast. - Jason I've been in a delicious, whirlwind affair with the Old Fashioned lately, so much so that I wrote an entire ode to them last week...while drinking one, of course. Thanks Pour Brothers! - Sadie Even though Sadie and I were separated with a state in between us (that’s you, Kansas) we both selected Old Fashioneds as our drink of the week. I made two Friday night, but used Whipper Snapper Whiskey from Ransom and went with old school George Dickel for #2. - Jason Being the first to finish an entire punch card at Bindle Coffee since their opening was truly an honor - those empanadas just keep you coming back for more. - Sadie I took a break from the Colorado beers I brought back last month, opened up a bottle of Blue Mountain VineyardsPinot Noir. Blue Mountain is located just outside Loveland on the Front Range. I like seeing these states not known for their wine producing better products. - Jason Ace Gillett's is my new jam - a simultaneously sleek and cozy ambiance with awesome bartenders and live jazz five nights a week, the drinks are on point and the vibes are good. - Sadie I went through a lot of coffee at home, including pounding through two different single origins of Blip Roasters - a Colombian and Brazil. If you haven’t been over to Blip’s space, be sure to make a visit. - Jason A long overdue trip to Compass Cider definitely didn't disappoint - a tasting flight with house made ciders and a few from Colorado Cider Company and Wild Cider rounded out Saturday afternoon. - Sadie Between watching a few football games and a meeting at Summit Grill with a few of the crew at Central States, I had my share of Boulevard’s last week. Bob’s 47 won out for me with a bit of fall in the air. - Jason ~ Join the Conversation ~
