~ A bit of down time from travel made for a rare week of the whole team in their hometowns, and we soaked it up with some of the best local drinks around. ~ "Social Hour" and girl time with a good friend at Social has become a Tuesday tradition, and this week's edition involved The Brown Derby - Bourbon, fresh grapefruit and honey syrup, plus a whiskey sour and classic G&T to round out the evening. ~ Sadie I went cold steep crazy this week. Blaming it on the June temps. Used the large French Press to test out teas from Rishi, SPIRIT, and Urban teahouse. Some of these teas probably considered too pricey to steep this way (cold in the fridge), but the results were so clean and produced a decent volume of tea. - Jason A warm day in FoCo that ended with a rainstorm and cool breezes coming through the screen door - Girasole Vineyards Cabernet Suavignon was the perfect nightcap. - Sadie The Full Monte cocktail at Julep made with Amaro Montenegro, Cocchi Americano Rosa, Citadelle Gin, and lemon hit the spot on a humid night. Super refreshing. Even tried out a mocktail on the spot that was equally as tasty. - Jason Humid weather that reminded me of KC and a good long day of Colorado Caffeine Crawl planning ended on a sweet note with Epic Brewing's Brainless Raspberries. - Sadie Dinner & drinks with some our favorite people ... It's what Saturday nights were made for! We took advantage of no rain and enjoyed a meal on the patio at a local Italian eatery. Started with a 2013 La Quercia Montepulciano d'Abruzzo at Bella Napoli in Brookside (KCMO) - Michael Friday's with good company can start way before happy hour. A nice morning meeting at One More Cup for a brew of PT's Brazil, and ending with pizza and beer with my fam. Reached into the Nebraska stash for a Zipline Kolsch. - Jason Tasting flights on the patio of Horse and Dragon Brewing Co. after a bike ride was Saturday afternoon bliss. Sad Panda Coffee Stout and Almost Summer English Ale were favorites. - Sadie Saturday night margaritas at Port Fonda make for a good weekend in KC. I usually mix it up on what I choose, and happily went with the peach serrano. - Jason Heat and humidity caused us to really crave something iced cold and refreshing. Luckily Second Best had their nitro cold brew coffee flowing to quench our thirst! Perfect way to start (or finish) the day. - Michael What are you drinking this summer? ~ Join the Conversation ~
