~ Labor Day Weekend and plenty of bevs to get us through the week before ~ A trip to Denver for the latte art throw down (and later, dance party) at Corvus Coffee kicked off with tacos, guac and house margaritas at Comida at The Source. - Sadie Took advantage of Labor Day weekend with a trip to Weston with family in tow. All great except for running into a band of aggressive yellow jackets on our hike. The Mother’s Brewing Brown Ale at Tin Kitchen, and pick up of a Peach Cider by the local Farmer’s House took the pain away. - Jason If you haven't checked out the Passport Program, you definitely should - we added the final stamps to our passports with Moscow Mules and Loveland Ale Works Raspberry Sour at Pour Brothers on the patio to kick off Labor Day weekend. ~ Sadie Made more rounds of KC Caffeine Crawl drink stops at shops on this November’s lineup. From lattes to pourovers to fresh juice at the following - Headrush Roasters, Homer’s, Ruby Jean’s Juicery, Parkville Coffeehouse, Heirloom Bakery, and Kaldi’s Coffee. Be ready for a kickass Crawl, KC! - Jason Baristas hosting dinner parties means wine decanting in a Chemex. Monday was a work day for the crew, so an early Labor Day cookout at a friend's house was accompanied by a 2013 Llama Malbec from Belasco de Baqueda winery. ~ Sadie Maybe not the top combo a beverage lover would think of, but this Tieton Ciderworks Apricot Cider was pure rock star. A great bottle, and I kept the evening PacNW with a little pour of Ransom’s Whipper Snapper whiskey. Also, a must have for the home bar. - Jason Peeps being back in school means afternoon study groups at The Forge, fueled (this week) by Horse and Dragon Cucumber Kolsch & Crooked Stave's Pure Guava Petite Sour. Gettin' in that recommended daily serving of fruits and veggies any way we can. ;) ~ Sadie The limited-time-only Bambito geisha from Sweet Bloom has been lighting up lives at Harbinger Coffee this week, and I savored my glass as a prelude to the weekend. ~ Sadie Had a good meeting earlier in the week with a local KC bar owner working on Craft[E+D] and other beverage projects. A lunch at The Well over Cinder Block Brewery’s Northtown Native, a steam beer in style. Details on the “who” soon. - Jason Epic Brewing the great outdoors - 'Escape to Colorado' says it all.
