~ Livin' like the locals in Fort Collins means hopping behind the bar at a new coffee shop for Sadie, while Jason sips on small pours and reps KC beer. ~ ~ ~ ~ 1. Maybe it's the prohibition era ambiance, or the smiling service, or maybe it's the all-night happy hour every Tuesday - whatever the reason, Tyler and I keep finding ourselves at Social - this time for a Lavender Sour and a Blood and Sand, with complimentary bubbles from our fabulous server and good conversation. - Sadie 2. Drinks are really about the experiences and memories. For me this week that was the Boulevard beers shared with colleagues at Academia Lafayette's event I co-hosted last weekend. - Jason 3. Several cups of fruity, berry filled Boke Konga Ethiopian from Bird Rock Coffee have highlighted the home bar this week. - Sadie 4. Chinese food and a bottle of wine is becoming a Friday night tradition for me. To start the weekend it was a bottle of 2012 Bodegas Castano "Solanera Vinas Viejas" Yecla. - Jason 5. A recent thrill has been finding my new "third places" in Fort Collins, and settling in at the bar for a cappuccino and a chat with new friends or hopping behind the bar for pourover technique practice has made Harbinger Coffee feel like home away from home this week. - Sadie 6. I had a great selection of home brews with coffees from Kuma, Johnson Brothers, and Topeca Coffee. - Jason 7. An trip to Colorado Springs to see friends warranted a haul from Wilbur's in FoCo, and included great local beers from Funkwerks, Upslope Brewing, Dry Dock, Bristol Brewing and ODell. - Sadie 8. I'm a sucker for beer bars that offer small pours so you can try more beers. That's one of the reasons Bier Station has been selected in DRAFT's Top 100 bars list both years. Enjoyed my stop on Wednesday. - Jason 9. The Affogato Cubano at Fifty Licks is a unique experience I tried for the first time this week. Silken in texture, made with traditional sweet Cuban espresso. - Emily 10. While in Colorado Springs, we swung by the newly opened Ute and Yeti for an espresso - a coffee shop and bar inside a rock climbing gym that partners with UpaDowna to foster environmentally friendly outdoor adventuring for everyone with the motto ""Up a mountain, Down a beer." - Sadie ~ Join the Conversation ~
