~ Taking the crown & celebrating in style! ~ Keeping tabs on the Royals from FoCo took a brief pause to resume weekly drink dates with a dear friend who's been running around the world and is finally back home! Wintery weather to ring in November made a hot toddy at Social on industry night the perfect nightcap. - Sadie If you live in KC, last week was nothing but baseball as our KC Royals won the World Series on Sunday. That night I kept it chill with a riff on a Ward 8 cocktail I made using Aperol in place of grenadine, and High West for my bourbon. Plenty of dancing came after the last out. - Jason Sunshine filtering through the charismatic space of Bindle Coffee accompanied my favorite Mexico natural process pourover for a long, pleasant morning of emails and planning for KC Coffee & Tea Week. - Sadie For game 4 of the series and where the Royals went up 3 to 1, I made a Crock Pot cocktail for a Halloween party. Local apple cider, George Dickel, Domaine de Canton, Galliano, lemon juice, a jasmine pearl Rishi Tea simple syrup, and mulling spices. - Jason Also on Halloween, I left the cocktail (mentioned above) for guests, minus a small cup, but enjoyed a few beers from Black Mesa and Boulevard. - Jason Sinking into the delightful ambiance at Nuance only gets better with a French Hot Chocolate - half a bar of single origin chocolate of your choice steamed into milk, resulting in you yourself melting into a happy puddle of chocolate bliss. So glad they call Fort Collins home! - Sadie I had to have caffeinated drinks at home, too, especially after the long nights with Royals baseball and keeping up with work. I made my way through the bag of Nossa Familia Guatemala (amazing cup) and steeps of a Silver Needle from t, an urban teahouse out of OKC. - Jason A trip to Boulder for a Thursday Night Throwdown at Boxcar Coffee meant pre-gaming done right at Sanitas Brewing. One of my Boulder brewery faves! - Sadie Went by to meet with Jeff of Midwest Coffee Trading and check on their new space that will be on the Caffeine Crawl. It looks great, and I had a very nice brew of a Guatemala off the Alpha Dominche there. - Jason Roasting my first batch of coffee was the most magical experience. Loving all the levels of learning in the world of coffee. Cheers! - Sadie ~ Join the Conversation ~
