~ Sadie sipped her way along the West Coast while Jason celebrated Bastille Day & more in KC ~ A brisk morning walk after a late flight into San Francisco the night before was rewarded by a smooth cappuccino with a window view at Contraband Coffee. ~ Sadie With a French speaking son, there’s no way I’d skip Bastille Day without opening a bottle of French wine. Very affordable, but the La Bastide Blanche, Bandol 2012 was a match with cheesy tacos and a summer night watching baseball. - Jason The unique space at Federalist Public House leaves you marveling at the ingenuity that turned shipping containers into a hip hangout. Jackrabbit Brewing Co.'s Saison accompanied a wood fired pizza and a sultry summer breeze. - Sadie Lunch expectations were exceeded at The Rind in between coffee stops, with a delicious sandwich and Marion Berry Cider from Two Towns Ciderhouse. Yum! - Sadie With Sadie in California exploring coffee shops, I had to get back to a KC routine. Made stops at Crows Coffee for a latte, Thou Mayest for a brew of their new Ethiopian, and a few Aeropresses at the home office of Oak Cliff Coffee’s Kenya. A nice range to match the up and down weather! - Jason Cocktails and snacks at Hock Farm Craft and Provisions was the perfect evening wind down - a Manhattan with James E.Pepper rye whiskey, Vya sweet Vermouth prefaced a "Peach Negroni" with peach-infused gin and Aperol instead of Campari - very interesting! - Sadie Stops at Old Soul Co. for a Brazil pourover and Insight Coffee Roaster's newest shop for a cappuccino were both highlights of my Sacramento coffee "pre-Crawl." Love the contrasting vibes and excellent coffee at both spaces. - Sadie The new roastery and tasting room of Pachamama Coffee is brick and morter ambiance in it's purest form - tribute to farmers, engaging colors, great coffee - so great! Tea, toast and Temple Coffee create a delightful experience at Shine - they use their comfy space to promote community, music and art, and the snacks & libations are top notch as well. - Sadie One of my favorite post-lunch work stops is Tannin for a glass or two of wine, and tackling the current project list. Stopped by Friday for a glass of Copain 2014 Tous Ensemble Rosé to beat the local humidity. - Jason Two new stops for the team - The Trade Coffee and Coworking is caffeinating Sacramento's entrepreneurs in style with a Blue Bottle + Freeport Bakery menu & all the collaboration space you could want. The Mill offers creamy cappuccinos and a chic ambiance, just the thing your Thursday morning is looking for. - Sadie Not enough room to squeeze in all the great places Sadie visited in Sacramento here, but next time you're in town, don't miss Vaneli's Coffee, Ginger Elizabeth Chocolates & Chocolate Fish Coffee Roasters! We're stoked for Caffeine Crawl Sacramento (planned for early 2016) & hope to see you there! ~ Join the Conversation ~
