~ What we drank this week (and how we felt about it), in no particular order ~ 1. Rocking Caffeine Crawl San Diego was just one of the many ways Bird Rock Coffee wowed us this weekend. From caffeinating an early morning TV interview to hosting a fantastic double route kickoff and sending us home with a delicious Ethiopian coffee and the sunny flavors of San Diego, everyone behind the bar was genuinely delightful and helped us see just why San Diego's coffee community is so incredible. - Sadie 2. Great coffee took second place to even greater company on the Encinitas Crawl. Sun, sand, and beautiful smiles with new friends had me floating. - Emily 3. Enjoyed a KC beverage day going here and there with coffee runs at Quay, Parisi and Crows while seeing Ian of the new Blip Roasters followed by an evening with a few glasses of Cloudline Pinot Noir from a Gomer's pickup. - Jason 4. Celina Tio poured me my first Gose, years ago. Now, I enjoyed The Commons' version of this unique salty-and-cardamom beer at BottleCraft in San Diego. - Emily 5. DOD Desserts of the Day - Nothing makes a coffee experience better than a perfectly paired sweet. Michael enjoyed the trifecta with his One More Cup pour over using Oddly Correct's Ethiopian. Perfectly flavor paired with the right amount of sweetness! - Michael 6. Dinner and drinks after a weekend of non-stop caffeination was enhanced by our table in between a bachelorette party and a rowdy birthday party at Craft and Commerce - people watching, excellent cocktails and a few good laughs from behind our menus were just what we needed. - Sadie 7. Celebrated our work partnership with Black Mesa Brewing by toasting to a bottle of their special release, ES-ESB. Also, had another World Cup winning beer, the Telluride Face Down Brown Ale. A week of winners. - Jason 8. Making new friends is always my favorite part of Caffeine Crawls, and gems like Pia from San Diego Jumble made Caffeine Crawl San Diego a blast. We wound down with some lovely Vanilla Jasmine iced tea at the after party at James Coffee Co and reconnected with people we'd met along the way. - Sadie 9. Cheers to Awards Season - A nice glass of 2004 Joseph Phelps Syrah goes smashingly well with cured meats and aged cheeses! Bold, rich with hints of soy sauce and leather. Very soft on the finish; Just what you would expect after resting for 11 years. What more could you ask for while watching the 2015 SAG (Screen Actors Guild) Awards and occasionally checking out the Miss Universe contest! - Michael 10. Sitting in the mild NoCal sun and enjoying a Cabernet Sauvignon from a friend's tiny winery was the perfect ending to an intense weekend. - Emily ~ Join the Conversation ~
